Ok first review up for 2014 is the Trinidad Scorpion chilli peanuts from the Hot-headz kitchen. Upfront it tells you on the label they don’t take prisoners and that’s fair warning. Proceed at your own risk….
We know that these guys really know their way around chilli so it’s no surprise that after opening the very cool looking tin, the peanuts are foil sealed to preserve all of that massive heat. When you chow down on these bad boys the first flavour to hit you is a wonderfully chocolatey note, followed closely by the delicious fruit and flavour of the Trinidad scorpion chilli. Then comes the heat. Truck loads of excruciating heat.
These are the hottest peanuts that I have ever tasted by a country mile and they would make a perfect present for any chilli-head. They are fiercely hot, though not so hot that non-chilli heads would not be able to have a go if they’re tough enough!
Great for taking to a party in order to test the metal of any brave fool but not just a novelty. These are very, very tasty nuts and also taste great crushed and used as a condiment sprinkled over Malaysian or Thai curries.
